Online CD stores

Buying CDs online has become a quick, secure, and fairly cheap way to get music. The quality of the store varies, but for celtic music, I have found that for price, coverage and quality, CD Universe seems to do a consistently very good job, and in over a year of recommending them, have had no complains.

Online Book stores

Competition is growing, but Amazon.com still has a strong lead in buying books online, and is the only store with a decent selection of celtic music titles. Recent titles include Ciaran Carson's Last Night's Fun [review], part narrative, part introduction to the traditions of Irish music; the authorised biography of the Chieftains; and Gearoid O hAllmhurain's nifty Pocket Guide to Irish Traditional Music.
