Sean O Riada. CC12CD. O Riada's last recording, made by him in 1971. This is the first time it has been issued on CD. On it he plays traditional music on the harpsichord. LINKIN' O'ER THE LEA. Maggy Murphy. VT134CD. In 1952 Maggy Murphy (born Chambers) was recorded by Peter Kennedy in Tempo, County Fermanagh. The track 'The Ould Beggarman' became famous as an example of unaffected traditional singing. Now in her 70s, she is still singing (and beautifully). The songs are magnificent, and if you like traditional singing as it should be performed, this is for you. One of the best in years. SKIN AND BOW. Declan Folan & Junior Davey. SUNCD 23. First recording by excellent fiddler and bodhran player. THE JOHNSTONS. ESMCD 410. Re-issue for the first time on CD of 2 early albums - The Johnstons and The Barley Corn. CRCD 01. 28 selections of great tunes on accordion by one of the greatest men in Ireland. THE TUNES WE LIKE TO PLAY ON PADDY'S DAY. The Flanagan Brothers. VV007. The Flanagans, from Waterford, were huge stars in 1920s New York, and sold many records at home. This set of 24 remastered 78s does not include any of those used in Mick Moloney's earlier reissue - it's absolutely brilliant and as fresh as the day they were recorded. A particular inspiration for banjo players. CELTIC SOUL. Noirin Ni Riain.LMUS 0031. Songs of a spiritual nature from the well-known Irish singer. I SANG THAT SWEET REFRAIN. Kevin Mitchell.
