DOMHNACH IS DALACH/MANY'S A WILD NIGHT. Jackie Daly. CEFCD 176. Jackie Daly
(De Danann, Buttons and Bows, Arcady) has made only one solo album in the
past, so a new one is an event to note. Traditional tunes are mixed with
some of Jackie's own composition, including a cracking new reel called The
Dualloa. Well worth the wait.

DERMOT BYRNE . HBCD 0007. First solo album by the brilliant accordion
player in Altan. Absolutely has to be listened to.

KISS ME KATE. Liz Carroll & Tommy Maguire. SHCD 34012. First time on CD for
this fine fiddle and accordion  album from the seventies.

THE FIDDLESTICKS COLLECTION. Jerry Holland. GLCD 1156. Reissue of Cape
Breton fiddle album which was hitherto practically unobtainable. Excellent
music.

THE HEART'S A WONDER. Tommy Sands. GLCD 1158. New collection from the
County Down singer/songwriter.

TRIAN 2. GLCD 1159. Trian are Liz Carroll, Billy McComiskey and Daithi
Sproule on fiddle, accordion and guitar/songs. This the follow-up to an
extremely successful debut.

MEMORIES OF CLARE. Bobby Gardiner. COP 5010. This is a reissue of an album
made by the young Bobby Gardiner in 1962. Bobby, from the Lisdoonvarna area
of Clare, is steeped in traditional music and is regarded as one of the
modern masters.

IRISH ACCORDION MASTERS. Joe Derrane & Jerry O'Brien. COP 5009. Joe Derrane
has recently become a big name in Irish accordion playing for the second
time. Here is a selection of recordings made by him and the man who taught
him. Some of the selections feature duets and one of them is a solo by
O'Brien recorded in 1928.

the songs and instrumental music available on the Irish language label Clo
Iar-Chonnachta.

VALPARAISO.  Rita Connolly TACD 3033. Contemporary songs by the singer who
has already recorded Shaun Davey's work extensively. Produced by Shaun
Davey.

AN DARA CRAICEANN. Padraigin Ni Uallachain. CEFCD 174. A great new
collection of sean-nos songs from the singer who recorded the immensely
successful and popular 'A Stor 's a Stoirin'.

TO THE MOON. Capercaillie. SURCD 019. Brand new album by Scotland's top
traditional group.

We now have the 1996 Traditional Music Calendar. These proved very popular
last year  Facing each month is a handsome full-page black and white
photograph of traditional musicians, with a smaller photograph and
explanatory text  beside the month. Will make ideal Christmas presents.
